I am interested in relationships…the relationships we have with others, our environments, objects, and, most importantly, ourselves. How do we react and respond to people, places, and things? What causes us to connect, disconnect, and isolate? I dissect life long relationships and split second encounters within my choreography. I explore the monumental, the mystical, the magical, and the mundane moments of life and how they affect us, force us to grow, change, shift, or stay the same. I am fascinated by emotions that wash over and consume us and by emotions we only long for or dream of having. How do we move through, sit with, or deny our emotions? Through intense physicality and intricate gestural movements I urge dancers and audiences to feel with their whole bodies and view themselves and others through new lenses. My choreography has been described as intense, darkly humorous, witty, and whimsical. I hope to transport audiences to a place where they are capable of deep thought, intense emotions, and creative self exploration.
